Week 10 Called to Serve in Chemnitz

Hi Guys!  How are you?  Hope you are all doing well?  It has been a crazy week.  On Tuesday, we wrapped up our final day in Leipzig by having dinner at Sister Karl's house.  The food was so wonderful.  Then on Wednesday, I said goodbye to my companion Elder Wandtke and said hello to my new companion Elder Rowe.  We met at the train station and made our way to Chemnitz.  My companion is great and I am already learning a ton from him.  He is a great trainer!  Thursday and Friday we spent a great deal of time getting to know the city as we were both new to the city.  We also spent some time cleaning our apartment as the previous user left it pretty dirty.  All is good now and we have it in tip-top shape. This week was pretty cool because we got to watch one of Elder Rowe's friends whom he had been working with get baptized via zoom.  We are also continuing to work with our friend in the Philippines and hope that he will accept an invitation to be baptized.  He really loves reading the Book of Mormon and even accepted our invitation to watch General Conference this past weekend.  He loved it!!!!!  In Chemnitz, we are responsible for 4 wards right now, but we are not intimidated by this as we can do all things through the Lord.  On Saturday and Sunday, we watched General Conference.  I really loved Dahlin H. Oak's talk on racism and how it has no place in society that Jesus has commanded us to love our enemies. 3 Nephi 12:44 "But behold I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them who despitefully use you and persecute you."  The Lord has commanded us to love our neighbors Mathew 22:37-39 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38. This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.  Well, I better go.  We don't have any internet right now, so we had to go to the church for internet access.  I bear my testimony that these things are true!  Love you all!  Talk to you next week.  Don't forget you can write to me at Winston.rothaermel@missionary.org.
