The Current Bush

My mom sent this talk to me this week it was written by Hugh B. Brown.  I thought I would share it in case it could help someone else out.  It has been a really hard week.  I will leave it at that.  I am excited though because we got a new companion.  His name is Elder Witt.  He is really nice! On Thursday, we got to go to Leipzig and pick him up.  It was nice to be able to go somewhere and I am looking forward to a quarantine being over, so I am trying to hang in there until the 14th of February when the lockdown ends.  I am also excited because we might be getting some more missionaries soon.  I gotta run!  Till next week.  Winston You sometimes wonder whether the Lord really knows what he ought to do with you. You sometimes wonder if you know better than he does about what you ought to do and ought to become. I am wondering if I may tell you a story that I have told quite often in the Church. It is a story that is older than you are. It’s a piece out of my own life, and I’ve told it

Week 25

Hello Guys?  Hope all is going well.  It has been snowing like crazy here in Chemnitz.  Some of this week's highlights are giving my companion a haircut and he gave me one.  All the barbershops are closed.  He did a pretty good job.  Desperate times call for desperate actions.  In all honesty, this week has been pretty slow.  We did have interviews with the mission President and we watched a devotional by Elder Rasband on Sunday night.  There was one part where he talked about how missionaries got selected for their missions.  It was pretty cool to see the process.  Tonight we are going to have a movie night for PDay and watch The Two Best Years.  It is a pretty funny movie if you haven't seen it.  Also, going to try Dominos for the first time here in Germany.  I hope it is good.  Oh, I am going to be here in Chemnitz for another transfer.  We are also going to be in a trio.  We are getting another companion from Northern Utah.  He has been in quarantine in England and then at

Week 24

Hey Guys, How are you?  Hope all is going well for you!  Well, I am still in Chemnitz.  It is hard to believe that I have been out for 5 1/2 months and 4 of those have been here in Chemnitz.  This week has been kind of slow.  After the New Year, we did a deep clean of our apartment which isn't very exciting, but at least we have a really clean apartment now.  We also packed up the Christmas tree and took it back to the church.  It has been snowing here a lot which is really pretty, but very cold. Layers are the key to staying warm for sure!  The President of Germany has extended the lockdown until the end of this month.  I am trying to stay positive about the whole situation.  I know with all my heart that Coronavirus and lockdown were no surprise to  Heavenly Father, so I need to trust in the Lord.  We continue to do the Lord's work and serve his servants.  One lady, we are currently teaching has been investigating the church for over 10 years and one man we are teaching has b

Focus on The Good in Your Life

Hey Guys!! On Tuesday morning we got a call from the Zone leaders letting us know that my comp, Elder Davis, will be the district leader of the new Chemnitz District, which will be made up of us, the Annenberg Elders, and the Freiberg four-man. Having your comp as a district leader is awesome since it means we can call anyone in our district whenever we want haha. Then after planning out our day I had some breakfast. This week I decided to blow some of MSF and try this really boujee musli. It’s called “my muesli” and sells for 6€ a tube. After having it hyped up to me by Elder Davis I was a little disappointed after having some. Don’t get me wrong it was good muesli but not good enough to be worth it. I think next time I’ll just stick to getting “Köln”. That evening we called our friend Cihan in Turkey and helped him practice his german. We also met with Uwe on Wednesday (a member here in Chemnitz) and talked about all the gems you can pull from the war chapters in the Book of Mormon.
