Focus on The Good in Your Life

Hey Guys!! On Tuesday morning we got a call from the Zone leaders letting us know that my comp, Elder Davis, will be the district leader of the new Chemnitz District, which will be made up of us, the Annenberg Elders, and the Freiberg four-man. Having your comp as a district leader is awesome since it means we can call anyone in our district whenever we want haha. Then after planning out our day I had some breakfast. This week I decided to blow some of MSF and try this really boujee musli. It’s called “my muesli” and sells for 6€ a tube. After having it hyped up to me by Elder Davis I was a little disappointed after having some. Don’t get me wrong it was good muesli but not good enough to be worth it. I think next time I’ll just stick to getting “Köln”. That evening we called our friend Cihan in Turkey and helped him practice his german. We also met with Uwe on Wednesday (a member here in Chemnitz) and talked about all the gems you can pull from the war chapters in the Book of Mormon. Some of these include how to defend yourself from the influence of Satan and his very sneaky strategies. On Thursday for New Year's Eve, we were invited over by Peter (another member). He cooked us some spicy chicken gizzards and ordered us some pizza. We talked about our new year's resolutions and then he went off and roasted churches in Nigeria. Then as we usually end the night, we called Noreen (a friend who’s interested in the church) and read the Book of Mormon. Friday we called another friend during the day named Michael and read Alma 34 and talked about how powerful prayer is. We also planned a video that we're going to film this week about how the gospel blesses families so be on the lookout for that. On Saturday we had Zone Conference and mostly talked about how we can effectively plan. Here in Germany, winter has been really cold, my last comp and I would go out for runs in the morning and it would be below freezing. It finally snowed yesterday and made enduring the cold totally worth it! We also had church over Zoom and my comp and I were able to bear our testimonies. I explained how even though 2020 was really challenging, it was actually pretty good for me. I was able to spend more time than ever with my family and now I get to serve the Lord each day.  It helped me gain a strong testimony of the importance of having a positive attitude and being grateful. President Nelson stated, "The Joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus on our lives". I know that when we look for the good, we’ll find it. This week I had my first exchange and it was a ton of fun. The Erfurt Elders came over and I spent the day with Elder Obrist.  He is super cool! He is 22, which makes him older than the rest of us. Before leaving for his mission, he worked in the house-building industry and served in the Swiss military, so I was able to learn a lot from him. We had companionship study together and then we went to Schwester Karl's place for an appointment. Schwester Karl is the sweetest lady and always loves having the missionaries over. When we were leaving she gave us a ton of food to take home with us which was dope. I also finished my Technology training this week so I can finally use Facebook now. I'm thankful that we have the blessing of technology as it opens so many opportunities for sharing the love that Jesus Christ has for us with others. Jesus is the Lord Week 11

  Hey Guys!  This past week has been quite great. We were able to meet a few of our friends here in the area. We also decided to introduce ourselves to members by baking cookies and dropping them off at their place. Our plan worked and they loved it. Yesterday I had a great time at church attending the Hohenstein and Chemnitz wards.  I currently serve over 4 wards in the Chemnitz area. It was nice to be able to bear my testimony and meet more members of the wards. Last month this young man from the Philippines messaged me on Facebook.  My last companion and I were able to teach him over a series of video calls. He believed everything we taught him and he loved reading the Book of Mormon (he did it every day and took detailed notes). We were then able to connect him with the sister missionaries in his area, and on Friday I got the wonderful news that he accepted their invitation to be baptized! It brings me so much joy knowing that he is willing to follow the example of Jesus Christ and

Week 79 A second weekly in a row- What's going on!?

Yo was geht ab!? On Saturday I hit my 18th-month mark which is so crazy to think about .  Time really does fly when you're having fun. I also found out that I'll be released on the 21st of July, which was a bit earlier than expected but oh well. The plan right now is for me to join my family in Frankfurt since they'll be there for the summer and go home with them on the 28th. So I'll first be available to meet in person near the end of July and early August. I'm also having to look into housing for BYU already. I'm not really sure if I want to stay on campus or off. For those of you who went to BYU or are there right now, what are the pros and cons of both?  Besides finding out my plans for when I go home, this week has been pretty good. Right now I'm still serving in the city of Hildesheim and I love it here. I've been here for 6 months already, so I'll probably get booted somewhere else next transfer. If I do I hope I go to a big city like Hamburg
