Merry Christmas Week 22

Image
Hey guys!  How are you?  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.  We have had a very busy week.  Germany is still under lockdown which means the stores are closed except for the grocery stores, but we have still been able to go out to the park and talk with people.  One day while we were in the park, we started a conversation with two guys who were playing ping pong.  I asked the guys if I could play the winner when they were done.  They said, "sure, no problem."  Needless to say, the guy smoked me.  I am not a very good ping pong player, but it was fun.  While we were playing, my companion shared what we were doing in Chemnitz.   In the spirit of Christmas, we made more cookies and delivered them to people around town.  Also, we are teaching a guy in Turkey how to speak German.  That has been interesting.   So in Germany, Christmas lasts for three days.  Everyone opens presents on Christmas Eve, then there is Christmas Day, and then the second Christmas. Saying Goodbye and Tis the Season week 20

Hey Guys!! I'm sad to say it, but the day has finally come, I have to say goodbye to Elder Rowe. He's done, tomorrow he'll be boarding his flight back home to Utah. I'm really going to miss the guy, he was such a great trainer. He did an excellent job of teaching me how to ask inspired questions and getting people to open up. On Tuesday we picked up my new companion, Elder Davis, from the Leipzig train station. Who would've guessed, he's from Utah as well haha. He's been on his mission for eighteen months and just served in Berlin. He's a great guy and I can already tell that this transfer is going to be epic. Speaking of this transfer it will last for only two more weeks since another group of over 50 missionaries is coming over from America. I'm super excited about this cause it means I won't be the youngest on the mission anymore haha. We were told all about this when we saw our mission president on Saturday. It was so nice being able to see t

Staying in Chemnitz Week19

Hey Guys, Hope all is going well for you!  Sorry, this letter is going to be short, but I have had a really busy day today.  My companion and I got up early this morning and we ran a half marathon. Number two in the books for me!  Speaking of my companion, Elder Rowe is going back home to Utah next week.  He has been such a good trainer and I am thankful that I have been with him for the last 11 weeks.  I got word on Friday that I will be staying here in Chemnitz for at least another 6 weeks which is fine by me because I love this city and all the people that I have come to know.  I will get a new companion.  His name is Elder Davis. I am sure I will learn a ton from him.  Anyway, after our run, we went into the city and meet our friend Marc, and no worries we did a social distant visit.  Tonight we had dinner at a member's home and then went to see the Christmas lights.  That was a ton of fun!  I am kind of bummed that there aren't any Christmas markets this year, but it is un
