Multi-Zone Conference in Berlin

This week was absolutely fantastic!! Filled with getting to meet and know a lot of great people better.

The Highlight of this past week was that on Friday we had a multi-zone conference in Berlin. Friday morning we had to wake up at 3:30 am to get there on time. Yeah, you read that right. Because of this wind storm that was going on the office told us that a bunch of trains would be canceled, and they told us to wake up earlier than planned, to be safe so that we would get away to Berlin. They were right, the train that we originally planned to take at 6:54 got canceled, so we had to take two trains to Cottbus and then a train to Berlin. We finally got there right before it started and let me tell you I'm so happy that we were able to make it. It was so worth waking up that early. President Kopischke of the area presidency spoke to us. I really loved how he emphasized that we can never be too bold when inviting people to come unto Christ when we love them. Bringing people the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is the greatest way we can help them and we need to let them know that.

It was also so nice to see some of the boys I haven't seen in a while. I also got to meet quite a few new people, now that I'm in the Leipzig/Dresden Zone.

Yesterday, during Sunday School we discussed the story of Lot and his family fleeing from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorra. Because of how wicked Sodom and Gomorra were it was destroyed. The Lord commanded Lot and his family to flee and not look back. As Lot and his family left, his wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt. This story reminds me how important it is that we don't hold onto our past, especially that you shouldn't hold onto the mistakes you made and beat yourself up about them. That's not going to help you move forward at all. That's just going to make you feel awful and down about yourself.  How great and merciful is he.  He has given us the greatest gift we could ever receive, the ability to be redeemed of our sins. God loves each and every one of us and will forgive us when we repent. I know that that promise is true. I have been freed of my past mistakes and you can too. Will you leave behind your past and trust that God will forgive you?

Have a great week! - Love Elder Rothärmel

P.S. Enjoy the pics!
