Yoo!! Was Geht ab!? I've been doing quite well lately. This past week we spent a lot of time hitting the streets because most of our friends have gotten really busy. While we are out there, most of the people that we talk to don't even stop to hear what we have to say, they just ignore us and keep on moving. I try not to let that get to me though, I try to look at each rejection we get as getting one person closer to finding the one who is willing to accept the gospel of Jesus Christ in their life. That helps me to push forward and sometimes we find people who are interested to hear what we have to say, and sometimes we even find people who give us their number and want to meet again!! These last few days have been so bittersweet. On Saturday evening, I found out that I will be transferred tomorrow. I'm so sad that I will have to leave Hildesheim. Serving here for the past 6 months, I have been able to grow really close to the ward here. The members here are so incredibly kind and ready to help us in the gathering of Israel. After Church yesterday so many of them came up to me, thanked me for my service, and wished me well. I will miss Hildesheim dearly, and it will forever hold a special place in my heart.
I am ridiculously excited to go to DRESDEN though!!! That's where our Mission President is from and he always talks about how it's the most beautiful city in Germany. Many of the members here also told me how nice it is. Elder Horsley and I will be bluewashing (when Elders replace sisters) in one of the areas there.
At church yesterday Yesterday, I got to bear my testimony in sacrament meeting for the last time before leaving. I told them how I've been reading a lot in the New Testament lately and that one story has really touched me: The feeding of the five thousand. After receiving the awful news that John the Baptist was beheaded, Jesus sought out a private place to mourn: however, a great multitude followed him. No, Despite his wish to be alone he didn't send them away, he knew that the people needed him and had compassion toward them. He healed the sick and as it got late in the night the apostles sought to turn away the multitude so that they could go buy themselves something to eat; however, Jesus told them, that the multitude need not depart, that they (the apostles) could give them to eat. The apostles turned to Jesus and responded " but we only have 5 loaves and two fish". Jesus had asked them to complete a seemingly impossible task, but he took what they gave him, and multiplied it so that all could be fed. Sometimes we think that what we have isn't enough for what God asks, however, if we humble ourselves before him, and give him all that we have, he will take it and multiply it to fulfill his work. I have seen that so much throughout my whole mission. He has helped me fulfill his work even though my german is imperfect, and I may be awkward at times. I know that he will help us all. I invite all of you to give all that you have to the Lord and see the miracles that take place.
Have a great week y'all! And remember, I wouldn't mind if you guys wrote me.
